The Hirosaki Cherry Blossom Festival is one of Japan's top three cherry blossom festivals, featuring approximately 2,600 cherry trees surrounding Hirosaki Castle. The moat filled with fallen cherry petals creates a breathtaking pink carpet effect known as hanaikada (flower raft).

Access
JR Hirosaki Station, then Dotemachi Loop Bus to Shiyakusho-mae (City Hall) stop, about 15 minutes.
Tips for Visitors
The best timing for hanaikada is usually late April when petals start falling. Rent a rowboat on the moat for a unique perspective. Arrive before 9 AM to avoid peak crowds.
