The Nagaoka Fireworks Festival is one of Japan's top three fireworks events, held over two nights along the Shinano River. Born from a spirit of remembrance for lives lost in WWII air raids, the show opens with three white memorial shells. The highlight is the spectacular Phoenix fireworks spanning over 2 km of the river, symbolizing Nagaoka's revival and wish for world peace.
