The Tsuchiura National Fireworks Competition is one of Japan's three great fireworks festivals and the country's premier autumn fireworks event. Held on the first Saturday of November, pyrotechnic masters compete in three categories: Star Mine (rapid-fire), 10-inch shells, and Creative Fireworks. The cooler autumn air provides exceptional visibility, making the displays especially vivid and crisp.
